Twelve months of Exura Prime: from first line of code to MetaTrader 5 and Ultency
September 2025 to September 2026 — how Exura Prime was built in a deliberate order: infrastructure first, clients second, regulation before scale, and only then the platforms our clients already use. The full timeline, with what each milestone actually meant.
One year ago, Exura Prime was a design document and a co-location contract. Today it is an FSC-regulated counterparty with clients executing over FIX, on our own MetaTrader 5 server and — as of this month — selectable from inside MetaTrader 5 itself through Ultency. This is the sequence, and why we did it in this order.

The order was the strategy
Most brokerage projects we have seen fail do so not for lack of capital or clients but because the decisions were taken in the wrong order: a platform chosen before the structure, a marketing push before the licence, scale before controls. We wrote about that pattern in our guide to launching a broker — and we held ourselves to it.
So the year reads as four phases: build → go live → regulate → meet clients on their platforms. Four industry recognitions landed along the way, which we are proud of, but they are not the spine of the story. The spine is below.
September 2025 — Exura Prime is born
The project starts with engineering, not sales. The first months go into the liquidity aggregation layer, the execution engine, the real-time risk controls and the co-location footprint in LD4, NY4 and TY3.
The thesis from day one has not changed: professional counterparties — brokers, prop firms, hedge funds, asset managers — should be able to onboard with one counterparty and execute on aggregated Tier-1 pricing with sub-millisecond latency and full transparency about how their flow is handled. Everything built afterwards is that sentence, implemented.
Our first published pieces date from those weeks: what we set out to deliver, and how institutional liquidity actually works.
October and November 2025 — first recognitions
One month after launch, Exura Prime is named Best Liquidity Provider at FX Expo Medellín 2025; in November, Best Liquidity Solutions LATAM at FX Expo Lima 2025. Early, and gratifying — but we treated them as a signal that the thesis resonated with the brokers and prop firms in the room, not as a finish line.
December 2025 — live for clients over FIX API and bridges
The first counterparties go into production. Clients onboard and execute through Exura Prime over FIX 4.4/5.0 and production-grade MT5 liquidity bridges, every integration shipped with a production-parity sandbox, documented message coverage and 24/7 NOC coverage.
From the first day the book is multi-asset: 70+ FX pairs, precious metals, index CFDs, energies and crypto CFDs, priced from one aggregation layer. The FIX connectivity we offer today is the same stack, hardened by nine months of production flow.
February 2026 — regulation before scale
With clients live, we file for authorisation with the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius as an Investment Dealer. The application covers governance, segregation of client funds, the AML/CFT framework, disaster-recovery capability and conduct obligations — including the rule that all marketing must describe our permitted activities accurately.
This is the decision we would make again without hesitation: choose to be supervised before choosing to grow. Every later service — the MT5 server, Ultency — is delivered inside the perimeter that licence defines. That same month, FX Expo Guadalajara 2026 names us Most Transparent Liquidity Provider, which, given what we were filing at the time, felt like the right recognition.
May 2026 — Best Multi-Asset Liquidity Provider, FX Expo Quito
The fourth recognition in eight months, for exactly the thing the December launch was built around: one aggregated book across FX, metals, indices, energies and crypto CFDs.
18 June 2026 — authorised and regulated by the FSC
Exura Prime Ltd receives its licence as an Investment Dealer (Full Service Dealer, excluding Underwriting) — licence GB26206361, company 235905 GBC, verifiable on the FSC's online public register. Client funds are segregated as a condition of the licence; services are provided exclusively to professional and eligible counterparties. We wrote about what the licence means and requires here.
1 August 2026 — our own MetaTrader 5 server
Since December, firms that run their own MT5 server had connected through our bridge. But many desks do not want to operate a platform — they want to log in and trade, with the tooling they know, on institutional execution. So we switched on ExuraPrime-Server: the full MetaTrader 5 experience on Windows, iOS, Android and a web terminal, sitting directly on the same book, execution engine and risk controls our FIX clients use. Downloads and server details are here.
September 2026 — listed in Ultency
The other half of the MT5 story. Exura Prime is now listed as a liquidity provider in Ultency, MetaQuotes' native liquidity aggregation and matching engine for MetaTrader 5. Brokers who run their own MT5 server can select Exura Prime in the Ultency gallery and route their flow to us from inside the platform — no third-party bridge. Two MT5 paths, one aggregated book. The specification is here.
What the next twelve months are for
Less dramatic, by design: deepening what exists rather than adding headlines. More instruments where clients ask for them; more points of presence where latency justifies it; more published work in the Spanish-language liquidity hub and its translations; and the same rule throughout — every claim on this site must be something a counterparty, a regulator or a search engine can verify.
The full timeline lives on our About page, and will keep being updated there.
Exura Prime Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius as an Investment Dealer (Full Service Dealer, excluding Underwriting), licence GB26206361. Forex and CFDs are leveraged instruments that carry a significant risk of loss. Services are not offered to retail investors.
